Terms of Service
Last updated: July 10, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing and using isabilaw.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use this service.
Some features of the Service require you to create an account and sign in. Additional rules in these Terms apply to registered users, including account security, acceptable use, and access limits.
2. User Accounts and Access Management
2.1 Account registration
To use certain features, you must create an account. You may register using email and password or, where available, sign in with Google or Microsoft. When registering with email and password, you must provide a valid email address, your full name, and a password that meets our security requirements.
You agree that the information you provide is accurate and kept up to date. You may not create an account using someone else's identity or contact details without authorization.
2.2 Email verification and account access
Email/password accounts may require email verification before you can fully use the Service. We may refuse or limit access to accounts that are not verified or that appear fraudulent, abusive, or incomplete.
2.3 Sign-in, sessions, and sign-out
When you sign in, we create an authenticated session for your account. Sessions remain active for a limited period unless you sign out or your session is invalidated (for example after a password change). You are responsible for signing out on shared or public devices.
2.4 Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, except to the extent caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures. Notify us promptly at support@isabilaw.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You agree not to:
- Share your password with others
- Use another person's account without permission
- Attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, or rate limits
- Use automated tools to create accounts or perform sign-in attempts at scale
2.5 Password management
Signed-in users with email/password accounts may change their password through account settings. If you forget your password, you may request a reset link sent to your registered email address. Password reset and verification links are time-limited and must be kept confidential.
2.6 OAuth sign-in (Google and Microsoft)
If you use Google or Microsoft sign-in, your use of those providers' services is also governed by their respective terms and policies. We do not receive or store your Google or Microsoft password. An email address already linked to a Google or Microsoft account cannot be registered separately with email/password unless you use the appropriate sign-in method for that account.
2.7 Conversation history, sharing, and history controls
Signed-in users may have access to conversation history and related account features. History entries can be searched, renamed, pinned, archived, or deleted through the conversation options menu in the sidebar. Archived conversations are removed from your active history list but may remain stored until you delete them or delete your account.
Sharing individual answers or whole conversations is available only to signed-in users. If you choose to share content, anyone with the share link may be able to view that content. You are responsible for what you share and whom you share it with. Guest users cannot create share links through the Service.
2.8 Required sign-in and guest use
We may require sign-in to use some or all of the Service, depending on how isabilaw is deployed or configured. When sign-in is not required, guest use may be subject to question limits and other restrictions. Certain features—including document review, document draft, voice input, conversation history, localized summaries, and sharing—require a signed-in account. Guests cannot create share links for answers or conversations.
2.9 Document review
Signed-in users may upload documents for informational review. Supported formats currently include PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, JPG, PNG, and WebP, subject to size and technical limits we enforce from time to time.
By using document review, you agree that:
- You have the right to upload and submit the document for processing
- You will not upload unlawful content, malware, or documents you are prohibited from sharing under contract, law, or duty of confidence
- Extracted text—including text recovered from images through automated OCR—may be incomplete or inaccurate
- Review output is informational only and is not a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer
- We may store uploaded files and extracted text in our infrastructure to operate the feature, consistent with our Privacy Policy
2.10 Voice input
Where available, signed-in users may use voice input to dictate questions. You must allow microphone access in your browser or device settings to use this feature. Voice audio is sent to our servers for transcription and the resulting text may be submitted, logged, and stored like other questions. You are responsible for reviewing the transcript before submitting it.
2.11 Preferences and plans
Some features are available only to signed-in users and may require a specific subscription or plan. We may also let you choose account preferences such as answer tone and response language (for example English-only answers or English answers with a Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, or Nigerian Pidgin summary). We may change, limit, or discontinue features by plan, region, or configuration at any time.
2.12 Localized summaries
Signed-in users may choose a response language in account settings or per answer. When a non-English summary language is selected, isabilaw generates the main legal answer in English and may add a plain-language summary in the selected language (Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, or Nigerian Pidgin). Summaries may be generated automatically for new answers when your account preference is set, or on demand using the translate control on a completed answer.
By using localized summaries, you agree that:
- The English answer remains the primary response; the summary is a convenience translation and may not capture every nuance
- Summaries are generated by AI and may contain translation errors or omissions; verify important points against the English answer and cited sources
- Questions you ask in a local language may be translated to English internally so we can search legal sources and generate the answer
- Generated summaries may be stored with your conversation history, consistent with our Privacy Policy
2.13 Document draft
Signed-in users may request AI-generated draft documents for common legal document types (such as employment letters, tenancy agreements, NDAs, or loan agreements), subject to plan limits and technical constraints we enforce from time to time.
By using document draft, you agree that:
- Draft output is a starting template only and is not legal advice or a guarantee of enforceability
- You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and validating any draft with a qualified lawyer before use
- You will not rely on generated drafts for high-stakes transactions without professional review
- Draft requests and generated content may be logged and associated with your account, consistent with our Privacy Policy
3. Use License
Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on isabilaw.com for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:
- Modifying or copying the materials
- Using the materials for any commercial purpose or for any public display
- Attempting to decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or hacking the Service
- Transferring the materials to another person or "mirroring" the materials on any other server
- Removing any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials
- Transferring or assigning any of the rights granted to you under these terms of use to any other person
4. Disclaimer
THE MATERIALS ON ISABILAW.COM ARE PROVIDED ON AN 'AS IS' BASIS. ISABILAW MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AND HEREBY DISCLAIMS AND NEGATES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR OTHER VIOLATION OF RIGHTS.
THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY ISABILAW IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE. ISABILAW IS NOT A LAW FIRM, AND USERS SHOULD NOT RELY ON THIS SERVICE IN PLACE OF CONSULTATION WITH A QUALIFIED ATTORNEY. USE OF THIS SERVICE DOES NOT CREATE AN ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP.
How we source information: Legal information in responses is drawn primarily from the Federal Government Gazette, official publications, and other official Nigerian government and regulator websites (including .gov.ng, .mil.ng, plus selected legacy official hosts such as inecnigeria.org and nerdc.org.ng). General background knowledge (for example history, politics, or context about institutions) may be sourced from the Internet, including third-party sites such as Wikipedia. Internet-sourced general knowledge may not be 100% accurate, complete, or up to date. You should verify important facts against official government sources or a qualified legal professional.
Localized summaries: When you request a summary in Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, or Nigerian Pidgin, the summary is an AI-generated translation of the English answer. It is provided for convenience only and may not be complete or perfectly accurate. Rely on the English answer and cited sources for legal substance.
Document review: Responses about uploaded documents are based on text extracted from the files you provide. Automated extraction and OCR may miss content, misread text, or fail on complex layouts, handwriting, or low-quality images. Document review does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not replace review by a qualified lawyer.
5. Limitations of Liability
In no event shall isabilaw or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on isabilaw.com, even if isabilaw or an authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.
6. Accuracy of Materials and Information Sources
Legal materials and answers grounded in Nigerian law rely on the Government Gazette, official publications in our database, and content from official Nigerian government and regulator websites (including .gov.ng, .mil.ng, and selected legacy official hosts). We work to present this information accurately, but errors, omissions, or outdated provisions may occur.
General knowledge used to explain context (such as historical, political, or institutional background) may be retrieved from the Internet. That material is not guaranteed to be 100% correct, may change without notice, and should not be treated as legal authority. Always confirm legal points against official gazette publications, government websites, or a qualified lawyer.
Document review responses depend on text extracted from files you upload. Automated extraction and OCR may miss content, misread text, or fail on complex layouts, handwriting, or low-quality images. Always compare important results against the original document.
The materials appearing on isabilaw.com could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. isabilaw does not warrant that any of the materials on our website are accurate, complete, or current. isabilaw may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice.
7. Materials on Other Sites
isabilaw has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by isabilaw of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user's own risk.
8. Modifications
isabilaw may revise these terms of service for our website at any time without notice. By using this website, you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Nigeria.
10. Prohibited Conduct
Users agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited conduct:
- Harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person
- Transmitting obscene or offensive content or disrupting the normal flow of dialogue
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service, user accounts, or related systems
- Submitting false or misleading registration or account information
- Uploading documents you do not have the right to share, or uploading content that is unlawful, malicious, or intended to disrupt the Service
- Using voice input, document review, document draft, or localized summaries to harass others, violate privacy, or circumvent access controls
- Using automated tools or bots to access or use the Service excessively, including for account creation or authentication abuse
- Impersonating another person or misusing shared account credentials
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations
11. Rate Limiting and Fair Use
isabilaw implements rate limiting to ensure fair access, protect accounts, and maintain service stability. Users exceeding applicable limits may have their access temporarily or permanently restricted.
- Question requests: currently limited to 12 requests per minute per client for the main ask/chat API
- Document uploads: subject to file-size, format, and rate limits designed to protect the Service
- Voice transcription: subject to technical limits and the same general rate-limiting protections as other API features
- Authentication and account actions: sign-in, sign-up, password reset, verification, and related endpoints are subject to separate rate limits based on IP address and, where relevant, email address
We may change these limits at any time to respond to abuse, capacity needs, or product changes.
12. Termination of Use
isabilaw may terminate or suspend your account or access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in activity that threatens the security or integrity of the Service or other users.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may sign out of your account through the available account controls.
13. User-Generated Content
Questions, voice transcripts, uploaded documents, extracted document text, localized summaries, document drafts, feedback, and other content you submit to isabilaw may be stored and associated with your account when you are signed in. By using isabilaw, you grant us a license to use your submitted content to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Service, including maintaining conversation history, processing document review and document draft requests, generating localized summaries, transcribing voice input, and enabling optional sharing features you choose to use.
Do not submit content you do not have the right to share or that violates applicable law, confidentiality obligations, or the rights of others.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless isabilaw and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors from any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, and expense arising from your use of the Service, your account activity, content you share, or violation of these Terms of Service.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent possible, and the other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
